On the banks of the River Derwent at Otago Bay, our cottage and bungalow offer a welcoming place to step away from the everyday, just a short drive from Hobart.

Here, there's time to enjoy the simple things. Wake to the changing light on the river, linger over breakfast, share a quiet conversation or spend the day discovering southern Tasmania.

We believe time away should feel easy. That's why we take care in preparing comfortable, welcoming spaces with thoughtful details that help you settle in and feel at home.

Whether you're visiting for a few days or giving yourself a little longer, there's room to enjoy both the pleasures of exploring and the comfort of doing very little.

A little space for wellbeing

We believe that taking time for yourself matters.

Sometimes it's as simple as sitting quietly beside the river, enjoying a slower morning or having a few days without the usual demands of everyday life.

This belief in the value of rest and reconnection is close to our hearts and shapes the way we welcome guests to Otago Cottage.

Giovanna currently offers ‘An hour of Sound’ in Battery Point, Hobart, providing an opportunity to pause, breathe and feel.

Looking ahead, we hope to introduce sound baths, gentle yoga experiences and new wellness facilities at Otago Cottage, creating more ways for guests to enjoy a little space for their wellbeing.

Set on 2.5 acres beside the River Derwent, Otago Cottage offers the space and peaceful surroundings of a country escape, around 15 minutes from Hobart's city centre.

Spend your days discovering local markets, galleries, food and the natural beauty of southern Tasmania.

Then return to the waterfront, make yourself comfortable and enjoy an evening with nowhere else you need to be.

It's a lovely balance of being close to everything, while feeling a little away from it all.
